I am a freelance jewellery artist and cultural operator, living and working in Tallinn. I received my MA degree in jewellery from Estonian Academy of Arts in 2008. During the studies, I spent one semester in ESAD – School of Art and Design in Porto, Portugal as an exchange student. Since 2003 I have participated in numerous exhibitions both international and local and also curated some of them.
In 2008 me and my colleagues, sharing the same dreams and passion, founded a jewellery studio called Gram. Together we have organised several art events: exhibitions, pop-up shops, open door days, jewellery making courses etc.
My artwork can be described as sculptural or architectural, silent and narrative the same time. I explore themes and motifs, which are linked to personal experiences side by side with still unknown but potentially meaningful. My creation is a journey, sort of a road movie. The objects and jewellery have been moulded to familiar forms, lifting simple and common things to works of art. The everyday gets ennobled, just as our personal intervention can make a common place unique.
